Stephanie A. Hutchison, DVM

Dr. Hutchison cares for the needs of cats, dogs and horses. From vaccines to small animal surgeries, caring for your pets is Dr. Hutchison's number one focus and passion. Before Dr. Hutchison was a doctor, she worked at Alta Vista as a Tech since she was in high school. She attended Texas A&M for veterinary school and graduated in 1998. She came back to Alta Vista in 2005 and has been here since. 

Dr. Hutchison has been married to her husband Jimmy for 12 years. She has a 4 yr old daughter named RuthAnn, who loves to come to work with her mom! If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she'll say she wants to be just like her mom and be a "doctor for animals."

Dr.Hutchison currently has 5 dog: Jane, Kate, Myrtle, Rosebud and Steve. She also has 9 horses, a pony named Ruby, a donkey named Buford and too many cows to count. 


Elizabeth King, DVM

Dr.King graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. She started her first mobile practice in SW Oklahoma tending to all creatures great and small. She then expanded to a lease facility named Village West veterinary Clinic. After 10 years she sold the practice, briefly owned a small animal emergency clinic then moved to Texas in 1998.

One of the highlights of her career was the privilege of being a trail veterinarian during the Iditarod race in Alaska for the last 6 years. She currently does relief work for veterinarians in the DFW area and she considers it a blessing to be able to work at AVAH.

Donna started at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in November of 1982.

She is married to Leland they have 2 kids, Fawn and Ty and 2 grandchildren her granddaughter loves to run barrels and her grandson loves to race motorcycles and play baseball.

She has 3 dogs, Snip, Shelby, and Jase. 5 horses, Chloe, Piper, Virginia, Molly and Duchess. 3 Cats, Pete, Stall Kitty, and Fuz Butt.

Jimmy Don

Jimmy Don started at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in October 2005.

He lives with his wife and 2 step-children Brandon and Brooke.

They have lots of sheep, 4 dogs, Piper, Bonnie, Cycle, and Bandit, and 3 Horses, Frosty, Bailey and Cheyenne.

His hobbies are.......

Team roping and DIY stuff.



Scott started working for Alta Vista in Feb of 2017 after working for GTE/Verizon for 25 years.  Scott has been married for 31 years to his wife Becky.  He has 6 kids, Jacob 28, Travis 26, Ryan 23, Ty 21, Megan 19 and Lillian 12. 

 We have 2 dogs named Juliet and Zhen Yu, 4 cats: Katniss, Nala(Gizmo), Fat Tony and Crazy Ears, 8 chickens and 1 donkey.



Vet Tech

Megan stated working for us in May of 2017,  she moved here from her home state of Pennsylvania to pursue a career as a Vet Technician.  She attended one year of college at Clarion University studying health nutrition, she was also a cheerleader for the University. 

She currently has a dog named Dixie Rose, who comes to work with her everyday, and a cat named Meeko who loves to live on the ranch and hangs out with the farm animals. 


Her nick name is Hot Chick given to her by Ryan.  


Steve Meek was a Veterinary Tech/ Groomer at Alta Vista Animal Hospital for 3 years. It doesn't seem like that long, but he left a lasting impression on everyone he met including the animals. He had a love for animals and people that was unmatched. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to help someone out, including rabbits, raccoons, opossums etc. The dogs and cats would agree that he gave the best therapeutic ear twists!

Steven was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor in December 2015. His tumor was surgically removed and he underwent chemo therapy and radiation, but unfortunately, the tumor came back.

Steve went home to be with his heavenly Father on July 26, 2016.

He is survived by 2 sons, who loved him dearly, and also several pets!

Steve, we miss you and will always love you! 


Kelly started at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in October of 2008.

She has been in the Veterinarian field for over 13 years. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband and her 7 furry children, 3 dogs, Princess, Porter, Pixie, 4 cats, Patton, Panzer, Pebbles, and one eyed Kitty Boy. She enjoys doing her own nails and playing with make up in her beauty room, she also likes to organize and decorate her home.

Her hobbies are...........

Nail Art, Make-up, Motorcycles, Watching Movies, Taking Naps, Arts & Crafts, and Organizing & Decorating.

Kelly went home to be with her heavenly Father Feb of 2017 she is survived by her spouse Shane and her son Kane. We truly miss her everyday.

Lory started at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in September 2017

I have been married for 41 years, we have 4 children and 8 grand children. I have 2 Siberian huskies who are full of energy and our babies. I now has a spunky kitten named Boo, she loves getting into things and loves table scraps! Yes they are spoiled rotten. I love the mountains and hiking, seeing wolves. I have been in the veterinary field for 17 years and love it. 

My hobbies are fishing, biking, gardening, sewing and taking care of the grand kids. I love fires on cold evenings and Christmas is my #1 holiday. I go crazy. 


Kennel Technicians


Kennel Tech / Vet Tech

Jazmine started working for us in June of 2017 as a vet tech, during the school year, she works as a kennel tech. She is currently attending UNT and has plans on attending Texas A&M for vet school.  She quickly became Scott's FAVORITE employee as she always loves coming to work.

Jazmine has 2 dogs, both Boston Terriers, their names are Samson and Hercules. We love when they come to visit us!


Garret started working at Alta Vista Animal Hospital in September of 2015.

He loves to travel with his family, and loves being with the animals.  He has 2 dogs, Bella and Diezel, a cat named Napoleon and a hedgehog named Stanley.

His hobbies are............

Special Olympics, shopping, and movies. 


Kennel Tech

Zoe started working for us in September of 2017. She has 4 cats, and a goat. She is a senior in high school this year and has plans to attend college after graduation. Zoe always has a smile on her face and has a huge love for animals. During the summer, she loves helping our groomer, Joy, wash dogs.
